MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–The Town of Moncks Corner is gearing up for its annual 4th of July parade which will take place the same day as the Festival & Street Dance on Saturday, July 2nd.
Town officials say they are still accepting participants for the parade. To take part, you can fill out the application by clicking here. From there, just follow the instructions.
Lineup will be in the parking lot area behind the Berkeley Alternative School corner of Live Oak and East Main Street.
The parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the parade route proceeding from behind the school onto East Main Street. It will then continue down East Main Street and will exit right onto Behrman Street, just in front of the Train Depot.
By order of the Moncks Corner Town Council, parade participants are PROHIBITED from throwing or tossing any objects, including candy, from units traveling in the parade. If you desire to do so, these items may be distributed by someone who is walking along your unit.
According to parade officials, it is imperative that you register prior to the deadline to guarantee an assigned spot in the parade and to aid in a smooth line up.
Bands or other units that desire to conduct a stationary performance may do so at the two designated locations: Farmers and Merchants Bank and Unity Park. The time limits is one minute for each performance. This is to ensure that there is no lag or gap in the parade. Participants may be asked to exit parade route if they do not abide by the allotted time for performances and locations.
Following the parade will be the Festival & Street Dance from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with live music, food trucks and vendors. Fireworks will follow immediately.
