ST. STEPHEN, S.C. – A St. Stephen man is behind bars following an investigation by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives with the Beaufort Police Department.
Woodrow Wilson Brown, III, 35, of St. Stephen has been charged with the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
Investigators said Brown solicited a person he believed to be a minor for sex.
Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, and the U.S. Secret Service, all also members of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation. U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives also helped.
Brown was previously convicted on related charges in 2010, the S.C. Attorney General’s Office said.
If convicted of this latest charge, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
