Several days ago, the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Bradley’s arrest for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Frances Lawrence, 59, to death.

Following the incident, officials say Bradley fled to the Charlotte area last week in his girlfriend’s vehicle in order to avoid being arrested by law enforcement authorities in South Carolina.

Bradley is currently behind bars in the Mecklenburg County Jail pending extradition back to South Carolina to face murder charges.

According to the initial incident report, it was Bradley who called 9-1-1 and reported that deputies needed to go to the location of the crime. He told dispatcher he had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend over a knife the evening prior 917 Bushy Lane near Sheep Island.

Bradley told dispatchers that when he woke up he found her dead. The incident report states that Bradley identified himself to dispatchers and that when he discovered that his girlfriend appeared to be dead, he left the scene.

When deputies arrived on scene, they entered the house through the back door since it was unlocked. When officers say they walked into the master bedroom, they found Frances Lawrence lying on the floor between the closet and bathroom.

Deputies say Lawrence appeared to have blood on the front of her nightgown.

EMS eventually arrived on scene and confirmed that the victim was, in fact, dead.

Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury ruled that Lawrence died from a single stab wound to the chest.
