2024 Presidential Preference Primary Elections: Berkeley County Voter Registration Deadlines To Know

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Elections are taking place in South Carolina in February. South Carolina state law requires a person to register to vote at least 30 days prior to an election. South Carolina’s Democratic Presidential Preference Primary Election will be Saturday, February 3. South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Preference Primary Election will be Saturday, February 24.

Voter registration deadlines are as follows:

  • Thursday, January 4 for the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary Election
  • Thursday, January 25 for the Republican Presidential Preference Primary Election

Individuals may register to vote in one of the following ways:

  • In-person at Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office, 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner
  • Online at www.scvotes.gov / Email: [email protected] / Fax: 843-719-4060
  • Via mail (postmarked date): Mail registration application found HERE to: Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections, P.O. Box 6122, Moncks Corner, SC 29461

VOTER REGISTRATION BY MAIL: Berkeley County residents can also pick up forms 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office or at one of the following locations:

  • All Berkeley Library Branches; see locations HERE.
  • Goose Creek City Hall – 519 N Goose Creek Boulevard, Goose Creek, SC 29445
  • Moncks Corner Town Hall – 118 Carolina Avenue, Moncks Corner, SC 29461
  • St. Stephen Town Hall – 124 Hood Street, St. Stephen, SC 29479
  • Post Offices in Bonneau, Cross, Cordesville, Goose Creek, Huger, Jamestown, Pineville, Russellville and St. Stephen

If you’ve registered to vote but recently moved, you can update your address at www.scvotes.gov. If you moved within the same County, you can complete your change of address on the back of your current voter registration card and mail it to Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office at P.O. Box 6122 Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS: Starting Monday, January 1, voters may begin applying for absentee ballots for all 2024 elections. Individuals may request an absentee ballot in one of three ways:

  • In-person at Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office, located at 1003 Hwy. 52, Moncks Corner, SC 29461
  • By calling 843-719-4058
  • By emailing [email protected]

  • January 23 – Deadline for voters to apply for an absentee ballot for the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary
  • February 13 – Deadline for voters to apply for an absentee ballot for the Republican Presidential Preference Primary
