“Kick-Off to Kindergarten” Events Announced as BCSD Opens Student Registration

Parents invited to tour classrooms, meet staff and enroll students during districtwide sessions

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — Families across Berkeley County now have a head start on preparing their children for school, as the Berkeley County School District officially opened new student registration on April 1 and announced a series of “Kick-Off to Kindergarten” events at elementary campuses districtwide.

The events, hosted at all K-2, K-5 and K-8 schools, are designed to give parents of incoming kindergarteners an inside look at what to expect in the classroom. School administrators and staff will be available to answer questions, guide campus tours and provide insight into each school’s kindergarten program.

District officials say the events are also an opportunity for families who have not yet completed registration to do so on-site with assistance from school staff.

The annual initiative aims to ease the transition into kindergarten by familiarizing both students and parents with their new school environment—an effort educators say plays a key role in setting students up for early academic success.
