MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Authorities have identified the victim killed in a Wednesday afternoon shooting near Foxbank Plantation as 19-year-old Austin T. Bile of Moncks Corner.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office said it was notified at approximately 1:12 p.m. on June 10 of a fatal shooting on Foxbank Plantation Boulevard within the town limits of Moncks Corner. Bile was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Moncks Corner Police Department, officers responded to reports of an armed robbery in the area of 106 Foxbank Plantation Boulevard by Parker’s Kitchen gas station.

Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
While Bile died at the scene, a second victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to police.
As detectives began investigating, one person of interest was detained. Authorities have not released additional details about the individual’s role in the incident or whether any charges have been filed.
Investigators have also not disclosed what led up to the shooting or the relationship between those involved.
The Moncks Corner Police Department said preliminary findings indicate the violence was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“This is a tragic and senseless act of violence that has deeply impacted those involved, their families, and our community,” Moncks Corner Police Chief Antwan Richardson said in a statement. “The Moncks Corner Police Department is committed to conducting a thorough and comprehensive investigation to ensure that all facts are uncovered and that those responsible are held fully accountable.”
Richardson asked the community to remain patient as detectives continue their work and to keep the victims and their families in their thoughts and prayers.
The chief also thanked the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and other responding agencies for their assistance.
“I would like to personally thank the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and our other law enforcement partners for their immediate response, professionalism, and continued support,” Richardson said. “Their assistance was invaluable in helping secure the scene, protect the public, and advance this investigation.”
In addition to the Moncks Corner Police Department, responders included the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Moncks Corner City Fire & Rescue, Berkeley County EMS and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
The Moncks Corner Police Department and Berkeley County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the shooting. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
