BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers are assisting seven adults and two children who were displaced after two separate early-morning house fires in Berkeley County.
Volunteers initially responded to a house fire on Spingwood Road in Pineville to assist four individuals and from there were dispatched to a home on Wares Run in Cross to help three adults and two children.
According to Red Cross officials, volunteers are meeting the immediate needs of these residents by providing financial assistance, infant supplies, comfort kits with personal hygiene items and referrals for their long-term recovery assistance.
