BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Miss South Carolina, Sarah Weishuhn, will visit Howe Hall AIMS on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. to participate in the school’s Recycled Runway show.
The fashion show will feature 11 designs created and modeled by AIMS students with the final gown modeled by Weishuhn.
The gown is a “Work of Art” that features environmental pledges made by fourth-grade students. The pledges represent the choices students will make that will positively affect the environment.
The Costume Design exploratory class meets once a week and works on basic sewing skills as well as fashion design.
They purchase garments from Goodwill’s clearance center and “upcycle” them into new fashions. The Recycled Runway show is a “Kids Who Care” project and the final products will be displayed at Santee Canal State Park.
