BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, he was notified of a body floating in the Wando River near Daniel Island at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday.
Salisbury stated that he and his deputy coroners recovered the body from the water and transported it to MUSC for an autopsy.
The body has been identified as 20-year-old Jules Dickson Mappus, Jr. of Charleston.
Mappus has been missing since Feb. 27 of this year.
His car was found on the top of the Ravenel Bridge.
More information will be released after the autopsy.
