It might be nearing its third decade on the air, but “The Bold and the Beautiful” is still finding new ways to remain relevant with a new twist that’s gathering plenty of attention. The character Maya Avant has been on the show since early 2013 but had a secret that was just revealed now, that she is a transgender woman. This is not the first time a transgender character has appeared on a soap opera, but “CBS This Morning” notes that this is the first time it’s been a main character.
