MONCKS CORNER, SC – New U. S. Census data released this morning shows that Berkeley County is the fastest-growing county in the state and the 40th fastest-growing county in the country from 2010 to 2014.
The other two Tricounty areas also ranked high on the lists, with Charleston as the 4th fastest-growing in state and 80th in country and Dorchester as the 5th fastest-growing in state and 86th in country.
Berkeley County Supervisor Bill Peagler (R – Moncks Corner) said he was not surprised at the new data.
“With great neighborhoods, great schools, beautiful lakes and parks, quick access to the ocean and major interstates, and great job opportunities – Berkeley County is a very desirable place to live, work and raise a family,” said Peagler. “Constant improvements being made to infrastructure and government processes coupled with very aggressive economic development efforts underway, I expect Berkeley County to remain tops on these rankings for years to come.”
