BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–This Saturday former Governor Mike Huckabee and Senator Rick Santorum will join Congressman Mark Sanford inside Stratford High School’s auditorium in Goose Creek.
Santorum will serve as the keynote speaker during the Berkeley Co. Republican party’s 2015 convention.
“The 2015 convention is the only place you will want to be this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.! Please come mingle with our Republican Sheriff Candidates and other like-minded Republicans,” stated Berkeley Co. Republican Party Chairman Josh Whitley.
Registration for the event starts at 9 a.m.
In January, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee announced that he would be ending his Fox News talk show to gauge support for a possible presidential run.
Huckabee has said he won’t make a decision on whether to officially run until late Spring 2015.
Meanwhile, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum has set up a “testing the waters account” in anticipation of a possible 2016 presidential bid. The account allows Santorum to raise and spend money under the same caps governing an actual campaign committee
Santorum ran as a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination, finishing second to the eventual Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
Huckabee was a candidate in the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries, winning the 2008 Iowa Republican caucuses and finishing second in delegate count and third in both popular vote and number of states won.
