BCSD To Host Info Sessions On Alternative Teaching Certification Programs

Teachers and school employees in Berkeley County could see pay increases next school year under a proposed budget that district leaders say strengthens student services, supports staff and accommodates continued growth — all without raising taxes on county residents. BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County School District will host an information session for individuals interested in becoming certified to teach through one of the state’s alternative certification programs on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 4:45 p.m. until 7 p.m. at MenRiv Education Park (0 Pulaski Street, Goose Creek).

Individuals who attend will receive information about receiving certification through Teach for America, the Program for Alternative Certification for Educators, Career and Technology Education, and the American Board of Certification of Teaching Excellence.

Those who plan to attend should bring copies of their transcripts for review.
