MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Early voting for South Carolina’s 2026 primary elections opens Tuesday, giving Berkeley County voters nearly two weeks to cast their ballots ahead of Primary Day.

From May 26 through June 5, registered voters can vote in person at any of six early‑voting sites across the county. Polls will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Early voting locations include:

• American Legion Hut: 180 Ravenell Drive, St. Stephen

• Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office: 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner

• Daniel Island Library: 2301 Daniel Island Drive, Daniel Island

• Goose Creek Library: 325 Old Moncks Corner Road, Goose Creek

• Hanahan Library: 1216 Old Murray Court, Hanahan

• Sangaree Library: 595 Sangaree Parkway, Summerville

Only registered Berkeley County voters with a valid photo ID are eligible to vote. Curbside voting will be available at every location for voters 65 and older or anyone unable to enter the polling place due to a disability.

South Carolina does not register voters by political party, meaning voters may choose to participate in either the Democratic or Republican primary — but not both.

County officials say they expect heavier foot traffic at the Voter Registration & Elections Office inside the County Administration Building. To manage the flow, the parking lot will operate with a designated entrance and exit, and all voters must enter through the elections office door on the left side of the building. Curbside voters will be routed through the DMV parking area. The county is urging voters to follow posted signs and review updated parking maps before arriving.

Sample ballots are available online, and election officials are encouraging voters to review them before heading to the polls.
