GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek has a brand new burger joint. On Saturday, Wayback Burgers opened its doors for business at 1741 Red Bank Road which is next to the Navy Exchange.
The new restaurant moved into the old McDonald’s restaurant after undergoing some major renovations. Wayback Burgers is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Hours of operation are from Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The franchise currently has one other Tri-county location at 618 Bacon Bridge Road in Summerville.
Wayback Burgers began in 1991 as Jake’s Hamburgers with a single restaurant in Newark, Deleware. In August 2010, Jake’s Hamburgers changed their name to Wayback Burgers.
Every month, Wayback Burgers features a brand new “Burger of the Month” and “Shake of the Month.” Burgers aren’t the only thing on the menu either.
Wayback Burgers also offers hand-made burgers, cooked to order, available as a single, classic double, triple, and triple triple (nine) patty, and rich, thick milkshakes made the old-fashioned way by hand, using only fresh milk and hand-dipped ice cream.
According to the company’s website, guests can enjoy their meals in an environment that hearkens back to a simpler place and time – when “customer service” meant something and everyone felt the warmth of the community.
Going “way” beyond the burger, Wayback Burgers also offers crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, fresh salads and delicious sides, including fries, onion rings, home-style chili and house-made chips.
