2 Injured In Summerville Shooting: BCSO

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening, leaving two people injured.

According to the sheriff’s office, the shooting happened on Gippy Drive in Summerville.

“The call came in at 5:20 p.m.,” Cpl. Carli Drayton said. “There were two juveniles injured in the shooting.”

Drayton said a caller gave dispatch a description of the vehicle involved, and while deputies were responding to the shooting, they saw the suspect’s vehicle on Myers Road.

Deputies said they attempted to stop the vehicle and then were involved in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended in North Charleston’s jurisdiction in the area of James Bell Drive and Rivers Avenue. Deputies have a man in custody. 

The juveniles were transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
