SCDOT Seeks Input On Black Tom Road, Hwy. 176 Intersection Improvement Project

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting input from the traveling public on proposed improvements to the Black Tom Road and Hwy. 176 intersection in Berkeley County.

According to the SCDOT, the project’s goal is to address operations, safety, and the functionality of the intersection, improve traffic flow, and to reduce congestion.

The proposed improvements include: slightly realigning and shifting Black Tom Road to the south, adding turn lanes on Black Tom Road and Hwy. 176 and signalizing the intersection.

SCDOT encourages members of the public to review project websites and provide questions, comments, or information about local historic or cultural resources.

All comments received during a project comment period will be reviewed and included in the project record. Individuals who provide comments will receive responses upon request.
