MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Some Bonneau Beach residents will soon be able to connect to county water services thanks to a Community Infrastructure Grant, Berkeley County officials announced today.
Governor Nikki Haley notified Supervisor Dan Davis that the County would receive $269,350 in state grant funds to extend water to the Horseshoe Neighborhood outside the Town of Bonneau. Berkeley County Water & Sanitation will provide $30,000 in matching funds to connect low and moderate income families (LMI) to the water distribution line free of charge.
“I am grateful we were able to secure this Community Infrastructure Grant for the residents of the Horseshoe Neighborhood,” says Supervisor Davis. “As Berkeley County grows, we will continue to explore and address infrastructure improvements, especially in our rural communities.”
The project is slated to begin in a few months, and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.
