Family Pet Dies in Goose Creek House Fire

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. โ€” A family pet died from smoke inhalation after a house fire broke out Thursday on the 200 block of Indigo Lane, according to the Goose Creek Fire Department.

Officials say residents discovered smoke upon returning home and immediately evacuated before calling 911.

Firefighters arrived within minutes, finding smoke coming from the residence and launching an interior attack. The first crew on scene brought the fire under control, while additional teams searched the home and completed overhaul operations.

All occupants were safely outside before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.
Investigators determined the fire was accidental.

The Goose Creek Fire Department thanked its mutual aid partners โ€” South Berkeley Fire Department and North Charleston Fire Department โ€” for assisting at the scene.

Officials remind residents to check smoke alarms regularly and never leave cooking unattended.
