MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to Steve Meadows with the Moncks Corner Police Department, last week officers were called to the Bi-Lo parking lot after a frightening encounter for one shopper.
Meadows says the the victim was getting into her vehicle in the parking lot when a black male approximately 30-35 years of age, approximately 6’00” approached her and asked for directions.
She reportedly looked away, and the suspect pushed her against her car, reached in and took her pocket book. Meadows says she struggled with the man but he threw her to the ground and left in his vehicle.
Meadows says the suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt and light colored blue jeans. He also was wearing white tennis shoes. He is described as being close shaved. He was driving a Gold SUV, possibly a Lexus with a gold interior.
“We remind everyone to be aware of your surroundings, and choose a parking space that is well lighted. This incident occurred at about 9 p.m. at night,” stated Meadows.
