BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley Elementary School teacher Stephanie Wallace has been elected to serve as the District One Director on the Board of Directors for the Palmetto State Teachers Association (PSTA).
PSTA’s Board of Directors is made up of six District Directors and five officers who govern the association. Each board member is a classroom teacher and volunteers his or her time to participate on the Board. Wallace will serve a two-year term as the District One Director.
“PSTA is the fastest growing teaching association in South Carolina whose efforts continue to play a significant role in establishing education reform while maintaining its top focus, students. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve with PSTA as it allows me to learn, lead and advocate, in a new capacity, with amazing teacher leaders across our state. I am confident that, together, we will continue to be a positive voice and change agent for public education in South Carolina,” said Wallace.
Palmetto State Teachers Association is the largest professional education association for teachers in South Carolina. It was founded 39 years ago to give teachers a voice.
PTSA provides professional benefits to support its members throughout their careers in education.
Twenty of the last 21 South Carolina State Teachers of the Year belong to PSTA. More information can be found at www.palmettoteachers.org.
