PINEVILLE, S.C. — Community leaders gathered Thursday to celebrate new upgrades at a neighborhood park in Berkeley County, marking a significant investment in outdoor recreation and public spaces.
The improvements at the Pineville/Eadytown park were made possible through a combination of state and federal funding, aimed at enhancing accessibility and promoting healthy lifestyles in the rural community.
More than $29,000 in grants from the South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department helped fund the resurfacing of the park’s multipurpose court. The upgraded space is now designed to accommodate basketball, volleyball, and pickleball—offering residents a wider range of recreational options.
In addition, approximately $50,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act was used to construct a new walking trail, providing a safe and scenic area for exercise and leisure.

County officials say the project reflects an ongoing commitment to improving quality of life for residents through strategic investments in community infrastructure.
“Berkeley County loves supporting projects that make a real impact, and we’re excited to see this park come to life!” the county posted to its official Facebook page.
The upgrades are expected to serve residents of Pineville and Eadytown for years to come, as officials continue to prioritize projects that deliver tangible benefits to the community.
