Police said Santos assaulted the female victim, forced her into the trunk of a vehicle and fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
While searching for Santos’ vehicle, officers spotted it traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph and attempted a traffic stop, according to police. Authorities said the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit through the area.

All parties involved were evaluated at a local hospital following the crash. Police said the victim remains hospitalized and continues receiving medical treatment.
