MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Small business owners in Berkeley County will have an opportunity to learn more about financing and lending options during an upcoming virtual workshop hosted by Berkeley County Economic Development.

The free session, titled “Borrowing for Small Businesses,” is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, at noon and will be held via Microsoft Teams. Officials say the workshop is designed to give entrepreneurs a clearer understanding of how to secure funding and manage the borrowing process.

Representatives from Truist Bank will lead the session, covering key topics including why businesses seek funding, where to find financing, and how to choose the right type of loan.

Participants will also learn what lenders look for during the approval process, how to build a strong business borrowing profile, and what steps to take after a financing decision is made.

County officials are encouraging both new and established business owners to attend, particularly those looking to expand operations or improve their financial planning.
