NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A Moncks Corner woman was arrested Monday after North Charleston police said officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside an SUV parked illegally near Bennett Yard Road and Dorchester Road.

Police identified the woman as 26‑year‑old Sonni Nicole Hogg of Moncks Corner. She and the driver, 47‑year‑old Shaun Jeremiah O’Shea of North Charleston, were taken into custody on trafficking methamphetamine charges.

Officers were patrolling an area they described as a known hotspot for narcotics activity and violent crime when they recognized the SUV and its driver from previous drug investigations. Police say Hogg and O’Shea returned to the vehicle shortly before officers approached.

A K‑9 unit conducted a free‑air sniff but did not alert on the SUV. During an inventory search before towing the vehicle, officers reported finding:

• About 28.2 grams of a substance that field‑tested positive for methamphetamine • Additional smaller bags of suspected methamphetamine • Needles and a meth pipe

Both suspects were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Police said warrants are being sought for two additional men connected to the investigation. The arrests occurred May 11 near the intersection of Bennett Yard Road and Dorchester Road.
