HANAHAN, S.C. — Authorities have identified the man killed after being struck by a train in Hanahan early Sunday morning.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office said Adam Day, 41, of Mississippi, died in the incident, which occurred overnight Sunday.

According to the Coroner’s Office, officials were notified of the fatal train-versus-pedestrian collision at 1:36 a.m. on June 28.
Few details about the circumstances surrounding the incident have been released.
An autopsy has been scheduled to help determine Day’s official cause and manner of death, according to the Coroner’s Office.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Hanahan Police Department, North Charleston Police Department, and Hanahan Fire & Rescue.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Hanahan Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
