MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Celebrate The Season presents the third annual Tinsel Trot Holiday Fun Run & Walk at Old Santee Canal Park on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Participants must register before midnight on Nov. 6 to be guaranteed a T-shirt with their race-day packet.
Children of all ages are invited to take a twilight run or walk through the winter wonderland of Celebrate The Season’s Holiday Lights Driving Tour one week before it opens to the public. Tinsel Trot’s proceeds are donated to charities serving Berkeley County in cooperation with Celebrate The Season.
The 2-mile, out-and-back course begins at Old Santee Canal Park on Stony Landing Road in Moncks Corner and features a special guest appearance from Santa Claus, children’s activities, glow necklaces for each participant, music throughout the course, and food for sale at the finish line. Costumes are encouraged, youth groups are welcome, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers and wheelchairs are also welcome.
Participants are encouraged to register online at raceroster.com. Online registration is available through noon on Saturday, Nov. 21. Entries also can be downloaded from www.celebratetheseason.org/tinseltrot and mailed to Old Santee Canal Park, and in person registration is available at Old Santee Canal Park’s Interpretive Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Race day registration will be held at Old Santee Canal Park from 4 to 5:15 p.m.
Registration fees are $11.25 for 7 years and older with a shirt (S-XXL); $6.25 for 6 years and under with a shirt (YS-YL); and free for 6 years and under without a shirt. Cash, check or credit card payments are accepted at the Interpretive Center.
Race packet pickup will be available Nov. 18-20 at Old Santee Canal Park’s Interpretive Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and race day packet pickup will begin at 4 p.m. Additional shirts will be available on race day for $5 (pending size and availability).
