BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—Some doughnut-loving cops are raising money for Special Olympics while enjoying that sweet yummy goodness at the same time.

Hanahan Police Chief Dennis Turner has clearly proven that he is the ultimate ‘master doughnut eater.’

On Friday, he gobbled up 12 doughnuts in one minute and fifteen seconds, beating out a slew of other law enforcement officers who took part in the competition.

Turner is just one of many Lowcountry officers teaming up to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics of South Carolina.

Since Thursday, officers have taken to the roof of the Krispy Kreme, located at 1491 Savannah Highway, from 6:00 am-6:00 pm, where they’ve been collecting donations.

The participating officers hope to raise over $10,000 during this event.

For a $20.00 donation customers will receive a coupon for a free dozen original glazed doughnuts and a South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run T-shirt, but any donation is appreciated.

The fundraiser will wrap up on Saturday.
