BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A community celebration supporting veterans and their families is set to return to Summerville next week, with organizers promising the event will be bigger than ever.
Warriors Haven’s second annual Freedom Fest will take place Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Faith Summerville, located at 337 Farmington Rd. in Summerville.
Organizers say this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the organization’s largest community gatherings to date, fueled by strong local support and expanded attractions.
“We are absolutely blown away by the outpouring of support,” organizers said in a social media announcement promoting the event. “The community is showing up, and this is shaping up to be the event of the year.”
Supporting veterans through housing and community
Warriors Haven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans transition from homelessness to stable, independent living.
The organization is working to develop a tiny home community specifically designed for veterans facing difficult circumstances. In addition to housing, Warriors Haven aims to provide access to job training, support services, mentorship opportunities and a strong network of fellow veterans and volunteers.
Leaders with the organization say the mission is about creating more than just shelter — it is about building a supportive community that helps veterans rebuild their lives and regain independence.
Funds raised during Freedom Fest will directly support those efforts and programs for veterans and military families.
“This is more than a festival — it’s a movement,” organizers said. “Showing our veterans they never stand alone.”

Food trucks, vendors and military displays headline festival
Freedom Fest 2026 will feature more than 150 vendors showcasing local businesses, handmade crafts, specialty products and community organizations.
Food will also play a major role in the festival, with 13 food trucks expected to serve a wide variety of meals, snacks and desserts throughout the day.
Attendees can also expect live music performances from multiple bands, children’s activities and one of the festival’s most anticipated attractions — more than a dozen military vehicles on display.
Organizers say the event will also include a Veterans Resource Row designed to connect veterans and military families with support services and community resources.
Additional information about the organization and Freedom Fest is available through Warriors Haven.
Organizers are encouraging residents across the Lowcountry to attend, share information about the event and help make Freedom Fest 2026 “one for the history books.”
